Features
Weapon System
Weapons define how you play each round.
You can choose one out of three weapons at the start of each run, and after every 10 levels, you can either upgrade it or choose a new one.
These are just examples of swords you can roll at level 1!
Weapon Abilities
Each weapon has a unique active and passive ability linked to it.
Weapon abilities scale with level and attributes.
These are the abilities for the Serpent's Fang.
The Serpent's Fang is overall a really powerful weapon as its damage scales with the enemy's maximum health.
The active ability scales with your physical damage.
Weapon Stats
Each weapon has base stats from which they scale.
Because of this, weapons with a high base value can reach higher stats over the course of your run.
For example, the Iron Point has a very high base attack speed value and its abilities scale with attack speed.
If you find yourself in a position where you have a high modifier increase of a certain stat, it might be smart to swap your weapon.
Weapon Archetypes
Weapons are divided into six archetypes.
Each archetype has a unique playstyle and scales with different stats.
Swords deal area of effect damage in a cone in the direction of your cursor.
Bows deal single-target damage and have a chance to pierce.
Axes spin and deal damage around you.
Daggers are thrown in the direction of your cursor.
Staves each have a unique pattern of attacks.
Maces deal damage in a small rectangle in the direction of your cursor.
These are just the currently planned archetypes.
Upgrade System
Upgrades are a core part of the gameplay loop.
Every level you will be able to choose between 3 semi-random upgrades.
These upgrades can be anything from increasing your stats to changing your abilities.
Upgrades shown above are work in progress.
Semi-Random Upgrades
Upgrades are semi-random as you will only get upgrades fitting to your current weapon archetype.
This means that if you have a sword, you will only get upgrades that benefit swords or your character.
This is to prevent you from getting upgrades that are useless to you.
Upgrade Types
There are three types of upgrades.
Attribute Upgrades
Attributes are Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence and Vitality.
Each attribute increases certain stats.
Strength increases your physical damage, critical damage and maximum health.
Dexterity increases your attack speed, movement speed and critical strike chance.
Intelligence increases your magical damage, cooldown reduction and maximum mana.
Vitality increases your maximum health, health regeneration and armor.
These are the base stats of the game and almost every upgrade has one attribute on it.
Passive Upgrades
Passive upgrades are upgrades that give you a permanent bonus for your current run.
These can be anything from increasing your damage to giving you a chance to dodge attacks.
Active Upgrades
Active upgrades are upgrades that change your abilities or add abilities.
Enemy System
Enemies spawn every few seconds, the further the run goes, the more and stronger enemies spawn.
Enemies will drop experience scaling with their strength.
Empowerments
Empowerments are a unique feature of the game.
Enemies have a chance to spawn with one or more empowerments.
Unit has 50% increased attack speed and 20% increased movement speed.
Unit has the ability to critical strike and 20% increased critical strike chance.
Unit has 50% increased maximum health and 50% increased size.
The size also affects the attack range of the unit.
Unit has 25% increased physical damage.
These are just a few examples of empowerments.
Enemy Rewards
Enemies will drop experience scaling with their strength.
This means enemies affected by empowerments will also increase the experience reward.
Enemies with empowerments will always drop souls on death, this currency can be used to improve your character permanently.
Bosses
Every 6 minutes you will encounter a boss tailored to the current level you are playing.
Bosses have unique abilities and are much stronger than normal enemies.
Bosses will always drop a weapon and a rarer passive upgrade.
